“In February 1999, I had the following results from my doctor:
WT: 169 lbs.
Fasting Blood Sugar: 125+
WT: 139 lbs.
Fasting Blood Sugar: 102
With my before picture in February ’99 my doctor warned me that I was heading for Diabetes, a stroke or maybe a heart attack. At age 73 I realized I was a time-bomb facing disaster. As a Registered Nurse since the 1950’s, I didn’t want to be a patient instead of a caregiver. Diminishing Dimensions offered me a nutritional professional who directed and guided me all the way. You can’t put a price on being more energetic, healthy and much happier!”Betty Friel, East Haven
“The Diminishing Dimensions program has improved my quality of life. Due to many factors, I was unable to shed the extra pounds that I had gained during my pregnancies. I was depressed about the way I looked, but unable to motivate myself to lose the weight. The best decision I ever made was to walk into Diminishing Dimensions to see what the program is all about. With the help of my wonderful nutritionist, I lost 33 pounds over a five month period, and my body fat had decreased by 10%. The truly amazing part is that unlike some of my friends, who are on other weight loss programs, I do not feel deprived and I am never hungry. I even lose weight when I am traveling and eating all meals in restaurants! Most importantly, my self-image is greatly improved. My family and friends are impressed with the new me! Thanks Diminishing Dimensions, I could never have done this without your help.”Laurie Reynolds, North Branford
“I have always been big, going back to my teenage years. As a football player in high school and college, my weight was never really an issue. Through physical activity and weight training, I was able to keep my weight under control but as I got older, my weight got higher. I would yo-yo (lose 40, gain 60), unable to maintain a loss.
Seven months ago, at over 365 lbs., the health talk hit me. Simple things like walking up the stairs became work. I read a testimonial similar to this one about someone losing weight at Diminishing Dimensions. It was difficult for me to admit I had a problem I could not deal with myself.
From the first day, the people at Diminishing Dimensions were great. Instead of just telling me not to eat, I learned how to lose weight and keep a healthy lifestyle. There is always plenty of encouragement and I have my own individual eating plan. It’s not how much you eat, but what you eat and when you eat it. I eat plenty of food and I am not hungry. I replaced my high carb, high sugar, high fat diet with a balanced one of healthy food. I read labels and make good choices. My love of exercise and weight training fit perfectly with my eating plan.
In 7 months I have lost over 70 lbs. and continue to lose. My blood pressure and cholesterol are normal and my waist is down 4 inches. More importantly. I feel great. Diminishing Dimensions works for me.”John Rank, Branford
Karin Speier of Glastonbury was a size 5X. The 41 year old nurse had “tried every diet on the planet”. Quite frankly, she was sick to death of dieting. Karin had 100 extra pounds on her petite 5′ frame. Her blood pressure and cholesterol were up: the usual symptoms that go with being over weight.
“When I met with my nutrition counselor she asked me ‘what foods can’t you live without?’ I immediately thought that I must be in wrong place! This is a diet counselor who cares about what I like to eat? This is when I made up my mind to make my program a lifestyle and not another diet.”
Karin has lost 118 lbs at Diminishing Dimensions and has dropped from a size 5X to size 16-18. Her blood pressure and cholesterol are down and she no longer takes medication.
“Diminishing Dimensions is the smartest thing I’ve ever done and the best money I ever spent.”Karin Speier, Glastonbury
“When I first came to Diminishing Dimensions I was not at all sure it was going to work. I had tried everything and believe me when I say I had tried everything, I mean everything! I felt that it was either try this one last thing or spend the rest of my life heavy. I guess it was a point in my life where I was low enough that the only place to go was up.
Seeing their TV commercial, I made an appointment and began the most life changing journey I have ever been on. Like I said I was a real skeptic when I started, but that soon changed.
As I began the plan and found myself eating every three hours, I thought this can’t possibly work, but low and behold, it did. As I started exercising and yes, there is exercise involved, the weight began melting away slowly, but surely.
I not only kept a food journal, but also got my own personal diary of achievements that I had made. There are little things like not asking for a table when going to a restaurant, but being able to sit in a booth. This used to be a BIG deal when I went out. I have more confidence, more energy, actually see my feet and, once again, love to go shopping for clothes.
While this has been a long journey, it has been a very rewarding one. I now look at food in a totally different way and am making conscious choices. It’s a journey I wouldn’t have missed for the world.
Thank you Diminishing Dimensions”Bonnie Wither, Branford
Joining the Diminishing Dimensions program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have lost over 60 pounds and I feel great!
I started the program in September of 1996 and by November 1997 I had lost 45 pounds. Over the last few years I have been on maintenance and without ever trying I have dropped another 20 pounds.
The Diminishing Dimensions program has changed by metabolism and given me a whole lifestyle change. I am now more active and energetic. Keeping the weight off has not been a problem because I now enjoy exercise and being fit and healthy.
I highly recommend this program to anyone who is looking to lose weight.Richard Thomas
“Having been on this diet for the past ten months, I have become more self-confident and happy with myself. I was always a little on the heavy side when I was younger, and when I hit my teenage years, it really began to bother me and became a struggle. I was very unhappy with myself and I dreaded shopping for clothes.
Then, my mother went to Diminishing Dimensions and lost 60 pounds! I saw how much success she was having and begged her to let me start the program. she finally agreed, and I couldn’t be happier. I have lost about 25 pounds, but better yet, I have gone from a size 10-12 pant size to a size 4. I have gained so much self confidence and I now enjoy shopping for clothes – a little too much! For the first time, I really feel good about my appearance and enjoy the compliments that I get from friends and family about how I look.
Going to Diminishing Dimensions has been the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I would recommend it for anyone who has ever felt the way I did. It completely changed my life.”Windy Black, Simsbury
“I felt very depressed, my clothes did not fit and I was tired all the time. I decided to try Diminishing Dimensions. This would be my final attempt to lose weight and keep it off. I like all the nutrition information that this program offers. I learned all the things I was doing wrong. I now understand how to eat healthy and what combinations of nutrients my body needs. the correct percentage of protein, carbohydrate, fiber and fat for my body was key to steady weight loss, increased energy and a higher metabolism. Diminishing Dimensions showed me a plan to coordinate with my odd working hours and allowed me to still go out pizza with my Dad without feeling guilty. Even with physical limitations, the exercise specialist developed an exercise plan that works for me. I have lost 40 pounds! Permanent changes in my lifestyle have been made. My motivation and interest in nutrition is part of who I am now. No more fad dieting!”Liz Sanford, Glastonbury
“My Husband and I decided to try Diminishing Dimensions “Two for One” program after we received our cholesterol results back from our physicals. We decided it was time to change our lifestyles. We wanted to learn what nutrition and exercise plan would be most effective for our weight loss goals.
The one-on-one counseling helped us come up with individualized eating and exercise programs. Our counselor is very knowledgeable and really encouraged us to succeed and reach our goals.
Together we have lost over 60 pounds and are in the best physical shape ever. Our cholesterol and body fat have decreased significantly.
The best part is, we get to eat reasonable portions of the food we want and are never hungry.
Thank you so much!”Thomas and Linda Pare, Madison
“All I have to say is “Thank you Diminishing Dimensions!” Who would ever think that I would be one of the before/after people? I used to look at all the pictures in the magazines and think, “I wish that could be me.” However, I never thought it was within my reach. Why? I had joined other weight loss programs and, yes, I did lose the weight, but I always gained it back and more.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1999 and after my second child was born last year, my weight ballooned and I was at my heaviest. I hated the way I looked and felt. Then one day, I saw an ad in the newspaper for Diminishing Dimensions and decided to give it a try. I knew I was ready to commit to a new lifestyle and new look after being unhappy for such a long time. I think the best words to describe this program are “educational and supportive.” I learned so much about the right way to eat and the importance of exercise! The staff was so supportive, and unlike other weight loss programs, I felt like the attention was focused on me. I was able to discuss my weight loss ups and downs with someone who honestly cared about my success.
I can finally feel confident in the future about being able to maintain my weight loss and stay healthy with all the wonderful things I’ve learned through Diminishing Dimensions. So, again, thank you for giving my life a happiness that I can truly feel on the inside and outside!”Sandy Mello, Farmington
